Technically, this textured knit would be classified as a rib knit. However, the ribs are different from the classic rib knit you might use for collars or cuffs. Here, the lengthwise ribs are tight, uneven lines that almost give the fabric a look of teeny, tiny pleats. It is a much more sophisticated take on a classic fabric.

The fabric itself is poly/spandex so it has great recovery and a fluid drape. The fabric would be wonderful for knit pants; I'm thinking the West End Pants. It is also a great weight for a light cardigan, like the Ann's Cardigan. The fabric has a textured finish and 4-way stretch. It is suitable for shirts, dresses, skirts, and loose pants.
